MAKE HEALTHY!


Ingredients:
  • Butter (85g)
  • 5 pears, peeled, cored and chopped
  • Muscovado sugar (4 tbsp)
  • Disaronno (1 tbsp) (optional)
  • Ginger biscuits, crushed (100g)
  • Cinnamon (1 tsp)
  • Dark chocolate, broken into chunks (100g)
  • Filo pastry (at least 6 sheets)
  • Almonds
  • Raisons
  • Cranberry sauce
  • Ice cream or custard to serve


Method:


1. Pears + butter + sugar

Melt the butter in a frying pan. Add the pears and sugar and cook for 5 minutes. Leave to cool.


2. Combine the ginger biscuits + chocolate + cinnamon + disaronno + 2 tbsp sugar in a bowl and mix well



3. Assemble
 
Lay a sheet of filo on a flat surface. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with a little sugar. Top with a second sheet of filo and repeat with 3 or 4 layers. Also include some cranberry sauce on one of the layers.


Pile the filling down one of the long sides of the pastry. Then roll it up to form a sausage shape. Seal the seams with more melted butter. Make small slits on top with a knife. Place in a baking dish. Cook at 180 (fan) for 35-40 minutes
